About University

Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) an important state higher education institution in the MD and other physicians, is the cultural, scientific and technical center of the MD and Vietnam. Since its founding in 1979, CTUMP has been improving and developing itself. It has an enrollment of about 8.000 undergraduate students; 1.000 students postgraduate students. CTUMP has got over 657 staff members including nearly 446 teaching staff. From a university with a few fields of study at the beginning, it has developed into a multidisciplinary university. Every year CTUMP receives students on internship programs from the U.S, Belgium, Japan and so on, or under agreements between their universities and CTUMP.

THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE OF CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

The Faculty of Medicine of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) was established in July 1979 to meet the need of medical education in Mekong Delta. With the desire to constitute and elevate the medical sciences and healthcare system in Mekong area, the Faculty of Medicine has imposed the forefront of health education which enabled the optimism of the healthcare innovation in the region.

Initially, when there were not enough lecturers, the subjects of basic sciences were taught by lecturers of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the first batch of undergraduate medical students.

It has been designed as a simulated hospital environment with state-of-the-art facilities and a wide range of modern simulators and equipment which are always updated to meet the standards of simulation-based training around the world.

THE HOSPITAL OF CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

The Hospital of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy is established from the decision No. 270/QD-BYT, signed on January 26th, 2011, and with the mission to provide community based high quality medical care, especially the Mekong Delta region. The hospital is o􀅨cially opened on December 30th, 2011. The hospital is a profitable unit of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, assuring itself of its regular operation.

The Hospital of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy is approved for construction and development in 2 phases by the Minister of Health. The first phase is used with the total area nearly 8,000 square meters for the main campus at the General Services area of the University and the subclinical area. In the second phase, the Hospital will be built on a 39,000 square meters area on Nguyen Van Linh Street with a capacity of 500 beds. Currently, the Hospital is a general hospital with 250 beds, includes 23 clinical and subclinical units.

ASIGNING CEREMONY

In order to continue promoting training and international cooperation, on the morning of April 27, 2022, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy signed a cooperation agreement with Aieraa Overseas Studies Company . Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy will be the receiving and training institution for medical majors for students from India and other countries in South Asia starting from the academic year 2023-2024, directly recruited by Aieraa Overseas Studies Company of India. select and enroll students with the assurance of 3 criteria on academic conditions, health conditions, language conditions, according to regulations on management of foreigners studying in Vietnam.

Aieraa Overseas Studies is the first Indian organisation to tie up with a Vietnam-based Government Medical Educational Institution. The Cantho University and Aieraa has collaborated to give the best medical education to Indian medical aspirants at an affordable fee structure. The CTUMP Vietnam has opened its door to admit Indian students to their Faculty of Medicine programme and strives to provide the best medical education to the Indian students.
