Five Important Steps For Your Successful

Medical Career in the UK

Step 1

Identifying Vacant Training Positions

  • NHS employers inform BAPIO Training Academy of vacant training positions, specifying level, specialty, and location, along with necessary job descriptions.
  • BAPIO Training Academy conducts quality control measures on job descriptions before accepting positions suitable for international trainees.
  • Partner institutions in India, in collaboration with MET and BAPIO Training Academy, identify qualified candidates, and the academy manages queries from both direct applicants and partner institutions.

Step 2

Interviewing Shortlisted Candidates

  • Counselling/ Addressing all queries related to the Fast Track program through telephone/ online webinars
  • Pre-Interview practice with specialty leads
  • Pre and post interview administrative support
  • Conduct joint interviews with NHS trusts
  • Assistance and special BAPIO Training Academy discount for OET/ IELTS training and teaching .

Step 3

Preliminary Training In India

  • Selected candidates will be enrolled in an intensive on line training/ BAPIO Training Academy induction programme and by hands on clinical training in their chosen specialty if required.
  • Simultaneously, candidates will also be enrolled in an additional diploma or master’s programme conducted by the University of South Wales while they are still in India to ensure commitment to the program, The on line program will commence when the candidate reaches the UK.

Step 4

GMC Registration

  • GMC due diligence-Handholding the applicant through the requirements of the GMC registration process/Documents required
  • The candidates will apply for GMC registration through routine processes.
  • Issuing SRC (Sponsorship registration Certificate) /COS (Certificate of Sponsorship) for full GMC registration. The term COS has now been recoined as SRC.
  • Coordination with the employing trust regarding COS for visa

Step 5

Preliminary Training In India

  • Once candidates receive their invitation for their identity check from the GMC, they can start their visa application. The MET in association with BAPIO Training Academy informs the trust to start the visa process after the candidate receives full GMC registration. The employing trust issues the COS for visa.
  • Once these doctors achieve desired competencies in accordance with the GMC criteria and qualify their English language proficiency tests (IELTS or OET) they will be ready to work in NHS hospitals at the registrar level. The job and training opportunities for these doctors from India will be at the same level as for local trainees at the ST-3/ST-4 level
